Acronis true image 2017 hangs during backup free

 

I have already tried creating a new backup, uninstall Acronis and do a new clean installation. Same problem. I have also ran checks on the main disk from where the backup runs and the destination backup disk WD My Drive. Please download the MVP Log Viewer tool link below and check what messages are being shown in the log for your backup task. Thank you for the logs, unfortunately they don't give any more clues as to why the task behaves as it does? Was there any significant changes on your computer prior to this issue starting, i.

I haven't made any significant changes. I even have been holding back upgrading to Microsoft build Although now I may give it a try. After all the various tries, I did a full uninstall of Acronis, reboot to clear any memory and cache , and do a clean install. Although after the new installation, it did recognize and bring back my former tasks, I assume due to logging into Acronis and retrieving my account license. You will have to create your backup tasks again unless you use the option to save the settings to a zip file in the ATI GUI first then import the settings again later.

I'd do the full cleanup and reinstall too. Then download the latest Acronis True Image installer from your account and make sure to right-click "and run as administrator" to install it. Then reboot to clean up the registry. If it still fails, there is likely an issue with the disk or partition and you should first try to run the following from an elevated command prompt right-click and run CMD with "run as administrator".

Ted, if this issue only occurs on selected backups from the NAS but not from others on the same NAS, then this is beginning to look very much like a permissions issue on the NAS side? Have there been any password or account changes on the NAS recently, or other changes to the storage folders on the NAS?

If it is not related to permissions on the NAS side, then getting 'access denied' when trying to change backup task settings would suggest a permissions issue affecting the underlying script.

The script. Open the files using Notepad and look at the XML text which will show your backup task name near the top of the file. Ted, the start and stop times are generated by the MVP Log Viewer tool and are not from the original log data - these are calculated from the timestamps in the log data, so only show the time range that the entries cover.

I would suggest leaving the task running for longer than the 20 minutes you mention above unless you have a pressing urgent reason to restart the computer etc. Ted, going back to basics for a moment, what is the build of your ATI application as shown on the Account page in the app? If you have , then the next step would be to try the steps shown in KB Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - perhaps starting with Method 3 and doing a repair install first.

Error: Error occurred while writing the file.. When ATI encounters any errors, it doesn't delete the file being created immediately, but instead creates a new file and increments the v number. Ted, do you have any other options configured for this task such as doing a validation after the backup? Are you seeing any evidence of continuing network activity during this '3 minutes remaining' period to suggest that data is being exchanged with your NAS for this task? Hitting Stop on the Acronis backup task should complete in a matter of minutes but that really depends on what is preventing the task from completing normally in the first place and whether that same factor will also prevent the stop request from being actioned.

Steve C, Apr 17, Be sure to test the restorability of ATI before you really need a restore. Looks ok to me , how to test my restorability? Always make an integrity-check after the backup is made.

It will be more interesting if it gets support for old windows like windows 95 windows NT. This tool sure is nice to have, but there are a lot of things that seem misleading, and using this tool, you always seem to end up at another brickwall. No one reads changelogs word for word, especially if you have skipped a couple of versions. Why even bother encrypting the archive? I tried 3 different versions of the software, but without success — always the same error. Where is the problem? The version was 0. But unfortunately — the file have been blocked due to file not recognized. They are on the same network. They are the exact same configs. Those installed, some are working, some are not working in legacy as well as UEFI booting. Make it simple for installing all type of ISO files. Two may options are confusing and can not select the wright one.

Must be able to install all latest ISO files easily. I am using Easy2Boot and have not faced any problem booting in Legacy. Also it should accept all ISO files. Linux as far as created is successful except Debian. I got it via jigdo from a mirror in CD form and I thought it could work if in DVD form though have no idea what make it failed for sure.
