I knew nothing about Inventor when I purchased it. It does a very good job of teaching, step by step, how to use and draw in Inventor. It also has a very good explanation of how the different files and options work in invemtor. Over all a very good beginners book. I just got Inventor LT and wanted a manual to accompany it.

Online resources are actually pretty good, but the browsing ability of a book is helpful to a novice. Unfortunately, this is not the book essenyials LT users. It covers numerous topics that aren't in the LT software, such as assemblies. You'll spend a lot of time trying to use a feature that doesn't exist for LT users. Even though it's well written, that's a fatal flaw for a help manual.

Very informative book to brush up on if you have experience with the program. Don't let this huge book make you feel defeated.
